About this tour
“Whanganui Heritage Trail” is a self-guided walking tour in Whanganui, New Zealand, made by Paul Chaplow. It takes about 3 hours, is free (funded by the local tourism board) and runs in your phone’s browser with a live map, so you can start whenever you like. No app or account needed.
Whanganui is full of heritage buildings and has one of the most completely original main streets in the country. Victoria Ave and some of the connected streets are the best places to see some great examples of them in close proximity. We've collected a number into a short align tour that will give you a great view of Whanganui's past. This tour can be enjoyed at olympic speed or, because some of the buildings have become hospitality venues, much more slowly with comfort stops along the way.
Enjoy yourself!
